Mission Statement


CANATURH (Honduras National Chamber of Tourism) is a nonprofit organization, without allegiance to any private sector, business, political party, or religious entity. Serving as a non-biased committee, our purpose is to promote, coordinate, and develop all activities related to tourism which lead to the betterment of Honduras and her people nationwide.

CANATURH BAY ISLANDS, in close association with the national organization of CANATURH, has been founded to implement sustainable tourism on the Bay Islands to include:

  • protection of the delicate ecosystem
  • assurance of adequate health care
  • fostering the continuation of tourism awareness, and service abilities, via local
    education
  • prevention of violent acts of crime
  • increase of international and local communications in the Bay Islands
  • finding, identifying, and assisting in the development of areas for future tourism endeavors
